Terms of use

Last updated 20 October 2026

Synmit is an app for getting a thought down and sending it where you get things done. It's made by Ivan Horg in Sydney, Australia ("we" and "us" below). These terms cover the Synmit app for iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch, the Synmit Full subscription, and this website.

The short version: your thoughts are yours, and we never have a copy. Synmit Full is a subscription through the App Store, and Apple handles the billing, renewals and refunds. Use Synmit lawfully. The law gives you guarantees that can't be taken away, and these terms don't try.

Synmit and Apple's licence

You get Synmit from the App Store, under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. These terms sit alongside it. They add what's particular to Synmit, and take away nothing it gives you.

The free app and Synmit Full

Synmit is free to download and use. Some features need Synmit Full, and Synmit shows which before you choose one.

Synmit Full is a subscription bought through the App Store, monthly or yearly, at the price the App Store shows you before you subscribe. It's charged to your Apple Account, and it works on your iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch under the same Apple Account.

The free trial. A new subscriber gets 7 days free, once per Apple Account. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you're charged.

Renewal. Synmit Full renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the same price, unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple tells you before the price of your subscription goes up.

Cancelling. Turn off renewal in your Apple Account's subscriptions (on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions), or in Synmit, at Settings → Synmit Full → Manage Subscription. Synmit Full stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.

Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue them ourselves.

Family Sharing is on: you can share Synmit Full with the people in your Apple family.

If your subscription ends, everything you have stays exactly where it is. Synmit only stops doing the paid things from then on.

Your thoughts are yours

Everything you put in Synmit belongs to you, and we claim no rights in anything you write, say or photograph. It's kept as files on your own devices, and we have no copy and no way to read it. The privacy policy says how.

Because your thoughts are files on your devices, they're as safe as those devices and the backups you keep. Synmit tells you when a thought has landed, and when it hasn't, it says why and keeps the thought for you to try again.

Where your thoughts go

When you synmit a thought, it goes where you told it to, through your own Reminders, Calendar, email or shortcuts. Those services' own terms cover what you send them, and what you send and who you send it to is up to you.

Using Synmit fairly

Use Synmit lawfully. Don't use it to send spam or to harm anyone, and don't try to break, copy or resell the app. The app and its icon are ours, and Synmit is our trade mark. So are the words and pictures on this website, and using them doesn't give you rights in them.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Synmit comes with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits them, or any right the consumer law where you live gives you.

Beyond those guarantees, Synmit is provided as it is, and we don't promise it will always be available or free of faults. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid for Synmit Full in the 12 months before your claim and A$50.

If something goes wrong, please tell us first at support@synmit.com, and we'll try to put it right.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using Synmit and cancel Synmit Full.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and its courts can hear any dispute about them. That doesn't take away the protection of the consumer law where you live.
